SANTA CLARA, Calif. October 9, 2009 At this year’s Oracle OpenWorld Conference (Oct. 11-15 at Moscone Center, San Francisco), Sun Microsystems, Inc. (Nasdaq: Java) will showcase its 27-year history in delivering breakthrough industry innovations, new benchmarks and unveil new technologies and demonstrate the value of its decades-long partnership with Oracle for customers worldwide.
On Sunday, Oct. 11, Sun Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder Scott McNealy will deliver the opening keynote, “Extreme Innovation,” during which he will be joined on stage by Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and senior Sun executives. McNealy’s keynote will feature the newest game-changing innovations from Sun, insights into the latest global market trends, and conversations with Sun Systems Executive Vice President John Fowler and Vice President and Sun Fellow James Gosling.
Sun Ups Ante for Enterprise Performance
Sun plans to make important product announcements at Oracle OpenWorld, including the introduction of the company’s first Flash Storage Array offerings and server enhancements. The advancements that Sun will unveil across its storage and server portfolios are designed to accelerate database and enterprise applications and deliver greater value to customers. Sun’s announcements will follow on the heels of other recent deliveries to market – including Sun’s storage design win on Oracle’s Exadata platform.
